Thrift Finds and Sock Monkies

Well I have to say, my favorite store in town never disappoints. I found some great linens, a few vintage planters, vintage red heel socks and a few other items all priced between .50 to 2.00. I love a bargain but even more a vintage bargain. I have seen the sock monkey craze and thought long and hard about making one. I think it takes a special kind of person to love a sock monkey. I thinks its because they're ugly and cute all at the same time. This one will probably go to my sister. Her birthday is in July and growing up she collected all kinds of monkies and guess what her nickname was. You got it MONKEY. So here is the monkey almost complete. I have to finish stuffing the arms and tail and attach everything. Enjoy the day. Its supposed to be in the 90s today and we haven't seen a rain in about a month now.

A Bird A Day

I don't know if any of you know of Ann Wood but she is the most talented bird and ship maker. Everyday she posts a bird and they seem to sell as quickly as she makes them.
http://annwood.net/blog They are simply beautiful you should jump over and take a peek. This whole idea makes me think about the bird a day. I think I could make a bird a day but then I wonder if I would ever have time for other projects. Since crafting is not my full time job. Oh well, maybe I could try a bird a week for a while. Who knows it looks like I will keep this blog going so maybe I can handle a bird too. This is a little bird that I made and added to a pincushion. I have since changed the pattern and deleted the pincushion. Who knows I think I will go home tonight and rummage through my stash to see what I can come up with........I will post the newer bird photo later.

Day Two....feeling overwhelmed

Okay so its only day two and I am already feeling overwhelmed. With what to write about?? Then again, once you start it just kind of comes naturally. My babes are going to the pool today and I always worry when they're not with me. I realized I'm not sending them into the wild blue yonder on their own......BUT do the adults caring charge of my brood realize who they are dealing with? Those sweet little faces are deceiving and I know cause I'm the momma!

On a different note I am wanting to add things to my Esty shop and have problems with the header or what ever you call the thing at the top with the logo, wait is the banner. Oh well anyway I had a picture and it doesn't fit the size. I want everything to look professional and it looks like my four year old did. Actually he could do better:) Oh well if you have some advice send it my way.

First of many.....I hope

Okay so I tried once before to blog and well like a belly buster at the beginning of summer it flopped. So once again I'm gonna give that old school try and see if I can't keep this one going. My daughter turned nine yesterday and well lets just say according to her sixteen is just around the corner and just so I know (according to her) she'll be driving a corvette.......Hey babe don't forget to give your mom a ride. Which of course lead her to her next question. "When I get old like you do I have to have children." And well how do you respond to that one? God love her I hope she has a son. lol

In other news once again I have started a new WIP and this one is almost finished. I have the attention span of a gnat and so I have a huge pile of started project that desperately need to be completed. I am also in the process of trying to list some of these babies on Esty. If you haven't been there, its heaven pop on over and take a peek. I can guaranteed that you will find something that will strike your fancy.
