Monday Morning Blues?

Good Monday Morning,

Do you ever have those daunting feelings that you have so many projects, commitments, ideas in your head that you will never get them all done. That is where I am at this morning. I have made a commitment to make a 2010 Winter Olympic softie/s for the plush you contest http://plushyou.blogspot.com/. My catagory is ice skating....so I have an idea and started that project.

My cousin owns a flower shop and I love to go and help her on valentines day. It is crazy insane and I love the madness make me push myself to a whole new level.

Then there is the kid's valentine party at school, the sock hop dance on Friday night...filing of the taxes....still trying to make new items to put in my etsy store....wondering if what I am making does anyone really like......Do you see where this is going. I tell you where it going on and on and on.

But I guess that is what inspires me to push on, the knowledge that I will always have something to do....and this little guys face of course.. Notice the Salvador Dali mustache. Thats my little man. Cocoa face and all.

Owl Swap Sent

Well I had planned on something a little different but what you see is what you get or I should say what my partner is getting. I really like the way she turned out but I kind of wish I had made shoes for her and some extra items to put in the mushroom house. I just ran out of time. Anyway I truely appreciate the owl that was sent to me so Thank you Lisa your a great swap partner.

Crafty Carnival Owl Swap

Crafty Carnival Okay so I haven't done a swap in quite sometime..... partly because I have the attention span of a nat and can never finish much, and partly because several times I have swapped and not received anything in return:( But I am taking the bait and going all out for this one. The wheels are already turning. I can't wait to get my partners name so I can add some personal touches.

Thrift Finds and Sock Monkies

Well I have to say, my favorite store in town never disappoints. I found some great linens, a few vintage planters, vintage red heel socks and a few other items all priced between .50 to 2.00. I love a bargain but even more a vintage bargain. I have seen the sock monkey craze and thought long and hard about making one. I think it takes a special kind of person to love a sock monkey. I thinks its because they're ugly and cute all at the same time. This one will probably go to my sister. Her birthday is in July and growing up she collected all kinds of monkies and guess what her nickname was. You got it MONKEY. So here is the monkey almost complete. I have to finish stuffing the arms and tail and attach everything. Enjoy the day. Its supposed to be in the 90s today and we haven't seen a rain in about a month now.

A Bird A Day

I don't know if any of you know of Ann Wood but she is the most talented bird and ship maker. Everyday she posts a bird and they seem to sell as quickly as she makes them.
http://annwood.net/blog They are simply beautiful you should jump over and take a peek. This whole idea makes me think about the bird a day. I think I could make a bird a day but then I wonder if I would ever have time for other projects. Since crafting is not my full time job. Oh well, maybe I could try a bird a week for a while. Who knows it looks like I will keep this blog going so maybe I can handle a bird too. This is a little bird that I made and added to a pincushion. I have since changed the pattern and deleted the pincushion. Who knows I think I will go home tonight and rummage through my stash to see what I can come up with........I will post the newer bird photo later.
